They're getting cheaper every year! NO BACK POCKETS!!!!!!!!!
I love these shorts; however, I have been forced to buy a brand new set every single year. The shorts are remaining the same ridiculous price (I have the receipts) but are becoming cheaper in quality every single year. I started buying these 5 years ago. The first set were decent, but the material ripped in the butt area within a year. Next year, same. Next year, same again. Rinse, repeat. The set I bought last year? Whew. Ripped the soonest of all sets. And then, this year, they've had the audacity to remove the back pockets (thank you other reviewer for mentioning this)! Why?? You're charging the same price ($20+ if not on sale) and you're now removing pockets. Anyone who hasn't lived under a rock for the past 20 years knows that women have been protesting online for MORE POCKETS. And here Old Navy is...removing pockets. Another thing, if you plan on purchasing a few of these in different colors, make sure you purchase your original size and a size up and return whatever doesn't fit. The colors are *not* true-to-size. Last year, the rusty orange (rusty moon?) color ran extremely small. This year, it's seems that the black is the smaller one of the colors. I just want companies to make decent products. Not this stuff that's meant to only last 9 months and end up in a landfill. I would be willing to pay $30-40 (probably more) for a product that'll last me longer. But, alas, that is not the company's motto. The motto is make the quickest buck making the cheapest product so they'll come running back in less than a year. This'll probably be the last set I purchase from Old Navy because I know for a fact they will rip in less than 9 months.
Looks weird/awkward fit
I usually love Old Navy's linen shorts and I will buy several pairs each year, but this year's fit is terrible. I ordered both a small and medium, as I sometimes wear either size, and the fit is off. The front seems like its actually the back (I even checked the tag as I thought I had them on backwards). Both sizes have issues with the waist and pockets, making them look awkward. For reference, I am 5'11" and weigh 165 lbs, and I have a straight body build.
THEY NO LONGER HAVE BACK POCKETS :(
I feel really strongly about this because these were my favorite shorts ever. I have them in multiple colors in the short and long style. WHY in the world did ya'll remove the back pockets this year?? They were so flattering and helped the lighter colors not feel so see through in the back. They look cheap now and not special. Please put the pockets back on next year!!!
Great until the stretch out
These fit and looked nice until they COMPLETELY bagged out (front and back) after about an hour. I left work looking like I had a full diaper... not the look I was going for. These are absolutely terrible, especially if you are even remotely Apple-shaped.
Comfortable
I'm 170 lbs and 4'11. I ordered theses shorts in the black and white checkered print. I thought I'd take a break from just wearing denim shorts, and I really like them. I've had four kids and unfortunately have an apron belly now. I was worried when purchasing if they'd fall okay on my body and not trying to hug my belly too much. They ended up being perfect length and comfortable around my belly. I bought a size L.
